Chaîne des Rôtisseurs

Inaugurated in Octoberof 2018 as the 10^thbailliage in China, the Bailliage de Wenzhou cordially invites all members and friends of la Chaîne to experience the amazing city of Wenzhou.

Wenzhou is a prefecture-level city in southeastern Zhejiang province, and the total population of the surrounding area is 7.7 million, with about 2 millions residents living in Wenzhou's city proper. It borders Lishui to the west, Taizhou to the north, and looks out to the East China Sea on its eastern coast.

Wenzhou has a long coastline which gives the city abundant marine resources and many beautiful islands. Dongtou, one of the counties in Wenzhou, is also called the “County of one hundred islands”. This has directly influenced the local cuisine, in Chinese known as “Ou Cuisine”, with many seafood dishes and flavors that are savory and salty. Wenzhou also boasts wonderful landscapes with rugged mountains and tranquil waters, including three state-level scenic spots, namely the Yandang Mountain, the Nanxi River and the Baizhangji Fall-Feiyun Lake, and two national nature reserves, namely the Wuyanling Ridge and the Nanji Islands. These places also provide mountain vegetables and mushrooms which appear in many of our local dishes. Beside the nature resources and beautiful views, Wenzhou is also a prosperous foreign treaty port, providing billions of dollar's income to our country, so many foreign businesspeople often find themselves traveling to Wenzhou.
