Message from the Bailli

Inaugurated in 1986 as the first bailliage in China, the Bailliage de Pekin cordially invites all members and friends of la Chaîne to experience the amazing city of Beijing.

The city of Beijing has a long and rich history dating back over 3,000 years. Kubla Khan first chose the city as the capital of his empire in 1641, about 200 years after an ambitious group of French goose roasters started the Chaine des Rotisseurs.  Almost 350 years later, an equally ambitious group of culinary professionals and gourmands in Beijing inaugurated the first bailliage in China.

Today, Beijing is synonymous with China from the swooping gold-tiled roofs atop the vermillion walls of the Forbidden City to the vast expanse of Tiananmen Square to majesty of the Great Wall. Moreover, Beijing now is a bustling international city which preserves the storied history of China's past while also saluting other great cultures from around the world. The Bailliage de Pekin'smission is to celebrate the great diversity of culinary culture which can be found in Beijing by hosting numerous unique and inspired events which cannot be replicated elsewhere. In addition to offering an eclectic range of great food and wine at our events, we strive to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Come enjoy with us the many exciting social and gastronomic delights this great city of Beijing has to offer. We welcome you!

Vive la Chaîne!
