The Bailliages of Shanghai, Hangzhou and Wuxi welcomed President Yam Atallah to induct new members at the Bellagio Shanghai.
During the ceremony, the new members recited the Chaîne oath in both Chinese and English, promising to uphold its culinary values. In total, 43 new members were inducted for the three Bailliages and four new members were inducted for the Ordre Mondial (OMGD).
Afterwards, members old and new gathered to take photos together in the foyer whilst enjoying champagne and special cocktails in the dazzling Bellagio Shanghai atrium.
Meanwhile, President Atallah was interviewed by Shanghai television station Channel Young, a channel dedicated to fashion and trends in Shanghai. The Director of the film crew also interviewed Bailli Délégué Allen Wong. The fashion news piece was a wonderful way to promote the Chaîne to an estimated audience of two million viewers.
During the evening, three members received the Chaîne’s Bronze Award and 12 members received the new Silver Commandeur pin, commemorating 10 years of active participation in the association.
Concluding the formalities of the evening President Atallah and Bailli Délégué Allen Wong presented Albert Servalls and his team with a Chaîne plaque for the Bellagio Shanghai.
It was an extremely successful event. Throughout the evening, there were hundreds of toasts celebrating the successes in 2018 and anticipating a wonderful 2019.
President Atallah said, “I have enjoyed great moments of gastronomy and friendship during my stay in China. I was also very impressed by your energy, talent and determination to make the Chaîne a success story in China. It is definitely happening and you have all the ingredients and the team to make it continue big time!”
